YJP of Las Olas Mission Statement: We strive to provide an engaging and spiritually uplifting venue for the young professional community. Our goal is to promote and strengthen Jewish awareness pride and identity by providing educational, cultural and social activities to young Jewish adults regardless of affiliation or background. YJP of Las Olas is a branch of worldwide Chabad Lubavitch, the world’s largest network of Jewish educational and outreach organizations. It is a vibrant and dynamic force in Jewish life, and its programs touch the lives of millions of people in thousands of communities throughout the world. Treasuring the infinite value of every individual, YJP is committed to enriching the lives of every single Jew.
Meet the Rabbi and Rebbitzen Rabbi Shalom Meir was born in the Chelsea neighborhood of NYC. He attended Yeshiva University High School and Brooklyn College. After working for several years in the business world, Shalom Meir switched careers to devote his life to Jewish outreach as an emissary of the Lubavitcher Rebbe. Shalom Meir is well known for his side-splitting humor and infectious passion for Judaism and Chassidic philosophy. Rochel Holzkenner grew up in Long Island NY. She attended Beth Rivkah High school in Brooklyn and Ohel Chana Seminary in Melbourne, Australia. She received her BS in World History from Thomas Edison State College, and her MS in Brain Research from Nova SE University. Rochel teaches in the Rohr Bais Chaya Academy High School and lectures for adult audiences throughout the country. Rochel had authored many articles on contemporary Jewish topics.
